JUNIOR PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE POLICY


The execution of this policy assumes that those involved are familiar with the Gosnells Golf Club Constitution (Junior Member item J ).

DEFINITION OF ALCOHOL POLICY.

In Western Australia the Liquor Act precludes persons under the age of 18 from purchasing or consuming alcohol on any licensed premises which includes Gosnells Golf Club.

POLICY STATEMENT

ALCOHOL    

Junior:        No Junior (under the age of 18 years) is allowed to purchase, possess or consume alcohol on any of the Gosnells Golf Club facilities.
Caddies/Helper:    No Caddy’s/Helper are allowed to purchase, supply alcohol to any Junior.

SMOKING    

Junior:        No Junior is allowed to purchase cigarettes or smoke any substance on any of the Gosnells Golf Club facilities.
Caddy’s/Helper:    No Caddy’s/Helper are allowed to purchase, supply Cigarettes to any Junior.

PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED IN THE EVENT OF A JUNIOR BEING FOUND IN POSSESSION OF OR CONSUMING A PROHIBITED SUBSTANCE

Actions

Junior’s parent to be contacted and junior to be suspended till an interview date is arranged.

If either substance is found on a junior they must be confiscated by an office bearer of the Gosnells Golf club and Parents notified IMMEDIATLY.

All incidents MUST be reported to the Junior Coordinator who will then take appropriate action such as:

1.    Nominate three member interview panel.
2.    Interview shall comprise of Junior and Parent.
3.    The panel shall document and take minutes.
4.    Make recommendations of appropriate action.
5.    Present recommendations to Junior Coordinator and forward to General Manager and Club Captain.
6.    Recommendations are to be presented to the Board for endorsement.
7.    Any documentation to be recorded on Junior member file.
8.    Parents to be notified verbally and then in written form.

Confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
