Thank you to the Board of Gosnells Golf Club for your faith and trust for appointing me as your Captain.
For those of you that are new to the club, I would like to welcome you and introduce myself.
I previously served the club as Vice-Captain and then Captain from 2017 -2020, and for the rest of you, yes, I'm back.
I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge our past captain Jamie McEwan for all the work he has done on behalf of us in these trying times and wish him and his family as the very best in the future.
In the past few weeks, we have showcased our wonderful course to the state, successfully running Gosnells Senior Open and Gosnells Open. For the first time in tournament history, the Gosnells Open was opened to include women in its own division. It was amazing to see our two home-grown juniors took out both the men's and women's events; I would like to extend my congratulations to Jose De Sousa and Jorja Hinson-Tolchard. I would also like to extend my thanks to all the volunteers that gave up their time to help make both events run smoothly.
The match committee met last week week in order to review the golfing programme for the rest of the season ahead with one of our most important events on the horizon being ANZAC day on Monday 25 April.
I would like to extend an invitation to servicing or ex-service personal wishing to play on the day to please contact myself at captain@gosnellsgc.com.au as soon as possible.
A full programme of the day's event will be communicated to the membership in the coming weeks.
I would like to take this opportunity to invite all members to consider volunteering their time and skills to the betterment of the club, by forwarding their name with the view of sitting on the match committee which ultimately runs golf at your club. Should you wish to participate, please make your self-known by contacting myself at captain@gosnellsgc.com.au .
