Update

SGM reminder

A kind reminder that the Special General Meeting for the constitution change is on Monday, 2 May at 6pm.

Agenda for SGM

We need a minimum of 50 eligible voting members to meet the quorum on the night. Please come in earlier so that we could register your eligibility and the meeting will start promptly at 6.05pm. There is only one agenda item therefore we expect the meeting to finish by 6.15pm.

We will be serving complimentary drinks to all attendees from the bar at the conclusion of the meeting.

If you are available and eligible to vote, please come down and support the Club's move to change the constitution.

Current eligibility for voting members:

  • Full members (except juniors)
  • Any other playing category members (except juniors) but must be at least 5 years financial

Board update

At the last board meeting, we have passed a new policy stating that club members are only allowed to serve on 1 committee unless approved by the Board. This is to allow diversity of different members on the committees. We have since, applied approvals for a small selection of members to sit on more than 1 committee. The president is excluded from this policy.

Changes to committees:

Match Committee: We thank the services of Chris Elliot, Terry Smith, Craig Tolchard and Vanetha Lam and welcome new committee members Mark Watts, Russell Redpath, Chris Pearson, John Cameron and Lyn Harling.

Finance Committee: We thank the service of Vanetha Lam. We are seeking expression of interest from our membership for the new vacancy in the finance committee.

Club handicapper: We thank the service of Vanetha Lam who has stepped down from the position of club handicapper and this position will not be replaced. Vanetha has served in this role for the past 3 years and have provided valuable and irreplaceable contribution and assistance to the club's operations and golf events. She has also stepped down from the ladies committee as the treasurer.

Shane Thompson

Club President

Vanetha volunteer of year

Please join us in thanking Vanetha when you see her around the Club as her contributions in past years, not only in the club handicapper role but in other committee roles are well acknowledged and recognised by the Club and the membership.

Board and Management

Course maintenance on weekends

We are addressing rumours that the course is not prepped for play on Saturdays and Sundays. The rumours are just that, rumours. We have course staff on roster, working overtime, on Saturdays and Sundays and in their morning tasks, includes: -

  • Changing the hole positions from previous day
  • Single cut greens
  • Clean/rake footprints in bunkers

The majority of general maintenance of the course is done from Monday to Friday and prep for members and guests plays are done on weekend mornings. This is a standard practice across majority of golf clubs in Australia.

The responsibility of proper bunker raking and divot repairs on fairways and greens lie on our members. If all of us do the right thing when we play, the benefit trickles down to all of us.

(Repeat) Quick updates

Please be advised that we are now working on reducing the membership categories in preparation for the new financial subscription year therefore you may notice a change in your membership category (temporarily). Please do not be alarmed. You will not charged any different for this financial year. We are working on the back-end of setup for the membership categories, booking rules and timesheet setup for the next months and hopefully by 1 July, it will reflect a better back-end system for the members and timesheet setup.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Friday timesheet changes - from 6 May 2022

As we experience reduced daylight for our Friday twilight competition in the afternoon, please be advised that the timesheet will revert to 1 tee start on Friday mornings and 2 tee start for afternoon Twilight competition or casual play from 2pm.
