Fellow members,
We are pleased to announce that the range will be in operations again from Sunday 31 July. We thank all members for their understanding and cooperation as the heavy rain did damper the progress of the range, which is to be expected in this time of the year.
You will notice that we have installed astroturf on the range and when the turf grows around it, members will enjoy both astroturf and grass play on the range. (a bonus to have astroturf particularly during winter season). We have also installed two pole lights (that is adjustable) for the convenience of late afternoon range or practice sessions. Until further notice, all play on the range must be from the ASTROTURF only to allow our turf to fully recover and grow. Our IRONS ONLY restriction remains in play (as it has been for a long time) and no woods are allowed on the range. We have now installed cameras and if you are caught due to our neighbour's complaint(s), we have to take action to ensure the safety of all involved. The range limit is 150m.
The softness of the greens with the heavy rainfall continues to be a talking point among members. The biggest issue is our inability to mini-core them during heavy rain fall therefore the greens are soft. Pitch marks are more visible and we continue to express our concern and sharing members' frustrations as to why the pitch marks and divots on fairways are not repaired.
We have less visitors during winter therefore the majority of play at the moment is from our members. If all members repair their pitch marks, we won't have issues of visible pitch marks on our greens. It will be a more enjoyable experience for all involved.
Our annual coring for our greens will commence from Monday 12 September. We expect a recovery period of 4-5 weeks after and the greens will firm up, in time for our summer golf.
Good golfing and a kind reminder to do your fair share of pitch marks and divot repairs.
