Golf Australia magazine - Australia's favourite golf course 2022

We have so much to be proud about our golf course. We may not make the list of Top 100s but I know that our members are passionate and we love our course. Our course is our favourite course.

So, lets shout it to the world.

Our Club is home to 100 junior golfers, 40 of them girls, and with the addition of the Australian Golf Foundation Junior Girls' Golf Scholarship program, this number is growing.

“We have a terrific junior pathway,” explained Glen Tueno, Junior Coordinator at the club. “From junior clinics, we then get children on course and working towards a handicap using Golf WA’s modified course model.”

Our club is now looking to 2023 with a new group of girls who have regularly attended clinics throughout the year.

If you know someone keen to join the AGF Junior Girls Golf Scholarship program, please contact Glen directly.

Reminder - Club Championship is around the corner! Qualifying starts on Saturday 29 Oct and Sunday 30 Oct! Entry form (PDF) here.

The Veterans Championship is also open for entries and will be played on the weekend of 12 Nov and 13 Nov. Entry form (PDF) here.

Bali has open its borders to Western Australia! With it, we have received a revised reciprocal offer for GGC members. GGC members pay the Indonesian resident rate of Rp 1.7 million instead of the standard rate of Rp 2.3 million. Please come and see our office for your member introduction letter.

In the next week or so, you will notice some recycling bins out on the golf course. Please recycle your beverages in the bins provided and all proceeds will go towards our junior program. We will advise members when this program is ready to go.

Mark your calendar! Our Junior Gala Day will return on Friday 18 November with loads of prizes and fundraising for our juniors and our junior program.

Josiah Edwards 54 hole junior classic winner

Congrats Josiah! Josiah won the Drummond Golf 54 Hole Junior Classic held over 3 days at Margaret River, Collie and Bunbury Golf Club. Josiah trailed overnight leader Ollie Marsh (RFGC) by 6 strokes and both of them entered a sudden hole play off for the title. Josiah won the 2nd play off hole with a birdie.

GGC were well represented at the event with over 11 in boys division and over 8 in girls division.

Lachlan Olde was grinning from ear to ear with his 1st place individual finish (and 3rd in team placing) at the UniSports National representing Notre Dame Uni, played at Secret Harbour Golf Links.

We are hosting the first AJGA (Australasian Junior) Junior Cup on Sunday 6 November 2022. Entry fees are reduced for GGC members. Great prizes to be won - over $2000 value.
