General Update

Drinks cart service

Thank you to members for providing informal feedback on the drinks cart service and we will now be providing a moving drinks cart service on both Thursdays and Saturdays.

Tuesday - course maintenance

We often receive the question as to why we can't have a two tee start on Tuesdays and the answer is mainly due to our course maintenance schedule. Tuesday is the only day in the week that is a one tee start. This gives our course team the opportunity to carry out the required, necessary work for additional course maintenance. If we take this away from the course maintenance schedule, we may receive a lesser quality presented course over a period of time.

Dining sheet - booking

We are in the process of reviewing our dining sheet for booking to make it accessible for all.  Currently, it still remains in the members booking area. If you notice a "payment requirement", this is payment ON ARRIVAL. You are not required to pay for booking prior.

New daily menu

Our new daily menu is now on offer available from 10.30am to 6pm daily.

We have catered for dietaries of gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and dairy free. However, if you require removal of any ingredient in the menu, please advise waitstaff.

Our menu is also certified halal and nut free.

We also offer ala cart breakfast from Weds to Sunday, 7am to 10.30am.

Juniors Opening Season

Our Juniors had their own opening season event held on Sunday, 19 March.

Commencing with a new tradition, Connor Pearson struck the opening tee shot with a hickory shafted club, as the current holder of the Luan Wright Character and Perseverance Award.

Lindsay Ong won the March Medal to be the first medalist of the year. The fast improving Lebron Vaiimene won the Modified Stroke medal and is heading towards playing with the big kids very soon. It was great to see 5 kids playing Tiger Tees for the first time today, their first step in competition play in our great game. We also awarded our Junior Pennant Awards.

Friday $15 specials

Where else can you find a deal like this on a Friday afternoon? Thanks to you, our members, we have been averaging over 30 orders a night, rocking a Friday night - thank you for your support!

Quick updates

Special mention to Warren Wynch - At the recently held Walpole Engel Pioneer Cup event (last weekend), Warren scored an Albatross on the par 5 hole #4. Sadly, no picture was taken but we are certain of drink celebrations after. 6 GGC members took part in the event, held at Walpole Golf Club.

Opening hours and coffee service

Our bar is open daily from 6.30am (half hour from first tee off except for Tuesdays) and we serve bacon and egg roll as well as sausage rolls with your morning coffee. Please come and support our hospitality and purchase your coffee from us.

Containers for Change - Junior Update

A big thank you to members for supporting our junior program by placing your 10 cent containers in the specially marked bins on the course and around the clubhouse.

With a few minor changes to bin locations since commencing the program, we have now reached a total of 10000 containers recycled.  Whilst this is obviously good for the environment, it also means $1000 that has gone straight into our junior account.

To assist our Junior Committee and parent volunteers when transferring the containers from the bins into bags ready to be taken to a Collection Centre - could we please ask that only containers with the 10 cent notation be placed in the specially marked bins.

On behalf of all juniors - thank you to everyone who has recycled their containers.

Birthday vouchers - system glitch

We are still waiting patiently for update from MiClub regarding the system glitch with our birthday vouchers. We will extend the validity of this voucher once the system is up and going.

We appreciate members understanding and patience in the matter.

We have twice escalated the issue and were advised that this matter is under investigation by MiClub developers.

Pennant season starts

The pennant season for men, women and seniors will commence shortly. We are still seeking expression of interest for any men players that would like to play and represent GGC in Pennants. A grade (Div 2 and 4) doesn't have a handicap limit but Division 5 and 6 are max 13 and 15 respectively. Please sign up in the pro shop.

Friday night dining

A kind reminder that our ala carte Friday night dining is on the last Friday of each month. This will be dining in the Randall Room.

If you would like to take up the $15 specials, please be seated in Alfresco or Lounge area.

Easter Sunday 9 April

Come down on Easter Sunday with your family for breakfast and egg hunt for the kids. Great buffet breakfast including build your own stations for the kids.

Troober Prime Offer for GGC Members

Late last year, we advertised that the Club has arranged for a special club price for GGC members. The offer still stands. With our tight corners in our car park, I'm sure this is an offer that is of great value to our members.

They are happy to cover existing damages to your car under the membership offer to get the ball rolling.

The offer:

$300 membership fee per year and receive unlimited repairs for minor dents and scratches at a small price of $50 per repair. This price also includes a yearly clean and detail.

They will come to us. So, have your car repaired on site at GGC while you play golf. Win-win!
