Update

Dear members,

Our new membership structure is a hot topic among our members since we released the update. There is a lot to process in this change and I thank every member that took their time to read the information provided and asked follow up questions.

I will address only one issue.

We can't price match with our peer clubs on membership fees.

If we do, we get into a price-war that will have long term effects particularly in our operations and in areas that our members enjoy. Our timesheet is not in full capacity therefore members enjoy exclusivity of walking in and booking their game, the day before. Our cafe is open from 6.30am and we serve breakfast 5 days a week (except Monday and Tuesday). We are open for lunch every day and we encourage members to bring their families to their Club especially now that we have a kids area. We regularly host events and we are encouraged by the recent uptake of member support. For example, our Mothers Day Breakfast tomorrow will have over 100 guests.

We are proud of what we have - in the quality of our golf course and the member service around golf.

Our new tee signages are already in place. They looked great! The rest will be installed in the new financial year.

We are also working on new concepts in the new financial year. We have started with our kids/lounge corner and watch this space for regular Sunday sessions and specials.

We will work on a new club video. I am excited about this concept and I hope members are too. We should start production soon after we have gone through our membership change period.

As always, I welcome any opportunity to speak to any members personally about any issues or concerns that they may have about our Club.

Good news

Current weekday and 6 day members will be allowed to play in Saturday PM timesheet with timesheet access 3 days prior, starting from Saturday 3 June. This is a temporary measure in the month of June.

You may now use your prize account or top up account for repairs at the shop. Even though, this service is provided by our PGA pro, Calum - we are extending the use of prize and top up accounts towards this service.

GGC members may have additional questions about what is covered under the Troober deal. Please read the attached brochure. Its a great offer if you have minor scraps and bumps on your car and takes the stress away (instead of claiming on your car insurance).

Helen Choi

Winners of GGC Autumn Tray

We had 64 players on a beautiful Friday morning for the GGC Women's Autumn Tray on Friday, 12 May.

Great company, great weather and great food after golf was a trifecta of enjoyment for all players.

We don't speak of good golf.

However for a select few, they played amazing golf and the results are as follows: -

Autumn Tray (Bronze Winner): Helen Choi (RFGC) 40

Bronze runner up: Ermie Robinson (Cott) 35 c/b

Bronze 3rd: Sue Symes 35

Silver (gross winner): Grace Cheetham (GGC) 76

Silver gross runner up: Joanne Ford (LKCC) 77

Silver (nett winner): Lyn Bennett (GGC) 68

Silver nett runner up: Linda Mackin (GGC) 72

Senior gross winner: Kymberley Wilson (GGC) 82

Senior gross runner up: Jaedo Jun (GGC) 84

Silver nett winner: Janine Northrop (WAGC) 75

Silver nett runner up: Sunny Lee (GGC) 76

Super Seniors gross winner: Donna Parsons (Mosman Park GC) 90

Super Seniors nett winner: Helen Edwards (RFGC) 80

Super Seniors bronze winner: Janet Cowan (GGC) 32 c/b

Super Seniors bronze runner up: Lyn Johnston (GGC) 32

Match Update

A kind reminder that ALL buggies and carts are not allowed to cross the blue lines. It doesn't just apply to motorised carts.

The 1 blast of siren is a suspension of play. It means that there is a possibility of resumption of play. If you hear 3 x blasts of siren, it is an abandonment of play. If you are unsure, always check with pro shop staff upon your return from course. Suspension of play also means that you are to mark your ball immediately and suspend play. It does not mean that you are to finish playing your hole.

Timesheets are now closed in the morning of the day. This is to ensure that the control of the timesheet remains in the hands of the pro shop. Members that wish to withdraw their name from timesheet MUST call the pro shop. If you do not let us know, your name will be marked as a no- show. At this stage, we are monitoring the number of no-shows and a new policy will be developed and published to members shortly.

A new signage will be displayed shortly at our driving range - all balls must be hit from the astroturf. Only teaching professionals are allowed to use the turf for their lessons.

Donation vs sponsorship of club competitions - If you would like to donate a prize in a competition field, you are most welcome to. It means that you will be adding a prize towards the final pool. If you are to sponsor a competition, it means that you will be helping your Club in the competition expense and as such, you will receive a sponsors parking space, platter after golf and acknowledgement in the Club timesheet and annual report.

Congrats to Jin! RPGC silver nett winner with score of 71.

Clarification of changes (from 1 July)

Booking times:
Full, life and corporate members will be accessing the timesheet 9 days prior at 6pm but all other categories remain at 8 days prior at 5pm.

Super senior timesheet block:
We are excited to implement a new super senior timesheet block for seniors over the age of 75+. The most common question we received was why is the minimum age 75, instead of 70? Simply - we have 170+ members aged 70 years and above and we are only allocating (to start with) 24 timesheet spots. If we are to accommodate 170 players, we will need to block more than 24 spots.

Cart/buggy storage:
We will be advising existing cart and buggy users of the their new pricing and new cart storage agreement by end of next week. Thank you for your patience.

Friday night dining

Last Friday of the month dining for this month is on Friday, 26 May.

We have a kids corner so it is easier to bring your kids and grandkids down to the Club. They can watch kids shows and do their own activities whilst you enjoy some much needed break and adult conversations.

It is much better deal than going to restaurants.
