General Update

Security of our premise has been a hot issue this past week.
We had a few troubled visits from our neighbourhood kids and it has exposed our lenient security measures. The Board and Management will be delving into these issues shortly and a portion of our new financial year levy will be allocated towards stronger security measures.
Temporarily, we have in place a security guard daily to provide safety for our closing staff (especially those at late night functions) until we have the stronger measures in place.
We will keep members updated in this area.

Stop and read for all members

Please note that your new membership is EFFECTIVE as of 1 July 2023. Although booking windows open 8 or 9 days prior, you are not entitled to any new privileges until your new membership starts on 1 July 2023.

This does not apply to existing members receiving an extension of their membership privileges - for example, current full members continuing with their full membership will receive 9 days booking privileges prior to 1 July 2023.

For members transitioning to lifestyle membership, you may still use your current membership entitlements until 1 July. Consider it a bonus that you are not using your lifestyle points for bookings in the first 8 days of July.

One Par Beer - Gaz Heald's winning beer

The special edition "One Par Beer ", aptly named by our Masters Breakfast and Golf winner Gaz Heald is on our taps!

Well done Gaz on choosing the inaugural name of GGC's Special Edition beer. This will be the name of our beer until the next Masters Golf event next year.

Quick updates

Let's squash some rumours around the Club:

1. Full members will receive the $200 discount off their subscription regardless of their payment method.

2. Members credit can't be used for lifestyle membership top up points.

3. There was a swirling comment that members have lost "a lot" of Twilights due to corporate golf days or other events. We had a look at REAL data from the last 12 months. We have only lost 5 Twilight events in the last 12 months and they are due to:-

8 July 2022 (Junior Open)

18 Nov 2022 (Junior Gala Day)

7 April 2023 (Course closure - Good Friday)

21 April 2023 (GGC Senior Open)

19 May 2023 (One Corporate Day)

We encourage all new members (especially) to come down on Friday afternoons and join our Twilight event. It is a fun event, open to all categories of membership. The comp fee is only $5.

Save the date - Club Gala Night

We are pleased to announce a new Club Gala Night event that will be held on Saturday, 18 November.

The gala night will replace past club presentation nights.

The gala night will showcase and acknowledge a new concept - GGC Members Hall of Fame.

We will also acknowledge long term serving members and their special badges on the night. Previously this was done at AGMs.

More details on the new concepts and the new annual Gala Night event will be released in the next few months.

It's the middle of Pennant season

No doubt you would have heard banters and comments about on-course performance of other club members...it could only mean one thing - it's Pennant season!

Keep up to date with Pennant results as we do post the results with a small report from their team captains.

If you are available to assist, we are sure that the players would welcome a caddy to lighten the load on the day.

P.S. If you haven't yet read it - read through all the captain's reports for the Senior Men Pennant - it is downright entertaining! We are certain that the yellow and blue team senior men next year will cross the finals line and it will be a sweet victory for all.

GGC Juniors are winners at the School Sport WA Primary School Championship

It was a record turnout of primary school kids at the School Sport WA Primary School Championship on Monday 19 June.

Our GGC juniors were well represented and a number of them came out as winners in their divisions.

What a great list of winners from our younger juniors. Exciting times ahead with the talent and dedication of our juniors and continued growth of our junior program.

Quick Updates

Winter rules are now in place. You may life, clean and place your ball in any general area cut to fairway height.

Schooner glasses are now available due to member demand. We have had quite a number of members come up to ask whether we could serve schooner sizes and this is now available. Please ask bar staff.

We welcome new staff member in the bar - Skye! Welcome Skye to the GGC team.

If you are paying by direct deposit for your membership fees, please ensure to place your member number as a reference. Please come by the office to pick up your new GGC sticker for your bag tag.

Please be mindful of parking WITHIN the car park line bays. On some days, it is hard to find parking and we strongly encourage members to park within the lines. We are not about naming and shaming but if it keeps occurring, we will post the pics in our newsletter.

The above is a copy of one of our ad images that is current to the market. Nomination fee for full members only will be retained at $550 during the promotional period of July and August.

We are also extending this offer to past GGC members. Past GGC members will not be paying the nomination fee to rejoin our Club as a full member. This is a once off offer and only applicable during the promotional period.

New member intro package

We are excited to launch from 1 June - the new member intro package.

This is not a GGC membership category but a pathway for new golfers. This package is targeted towards new golfers that want an early association with Gosnells Golf Club and enjoy a package for practice and lessons therefore gaining confidence for a GolfLink handicap and a step up into club membership.

Current GGC members are not eligible for this package. It is targeted towards golfers without a GL handicap.

We encourage members in this package to play Friday Twilight and be familiar with rules of handicap and golf.
