Clubhouse Project Update

A brief update on the ongoing redevelopment of our club and progress.

The club redevelopment project is moving forward. The overall aim is to enhance our facilities and create a more modern and comprehensive facility for all members to enjoy and also provide a shared community golf practice, golf simulation and social environment for public and guests.

The redevelopment project needs a number of steps to see it through to completion:

  1. Resolve historical land tenure with the City of Gosnells (City) and Department of Planning, Lands, Heritage (DPLH). Currently underway.
  2. Obtain development approval and building licence approvals.
  3. Undertake Project Funding arrangements with various agencies
  4. Manage and facilitate the construction, likely in two or three stages to minimise disruption to members use of the club facilities.

In terms of the land tenure issues, we have been actively engaged in negotiations with the relevant authorities and stakeholders including the DPLH and the City. Following a recent meeting at the club with the City Mayor Terresa Lynes - Club President, Shane Thompson, General Manager, Fiza and myself were invited to present the club redevelopment and land use plans to the City Executive and Councillors last Tuesday 20 June at their monthly community forum.

We are pleased to inform you it was warmly received and a positive reaction to our plans for the future and to resolve the land use issues. Following this community forum, we are now engaging with the DPLH and the City Planning in resolving the land tenure process.

ladder standings

Senior women ranking table as of 16 June

Lots to celebrate with how our members are playing in the senior women ranking events. Kymberley Wilson and Lyn Bennett tops our gross ranking table which includes a 5th place position for Jo Calvo.

In the nett ranking table, Gosnells dominates the top 3 positions with Kymberley (1st), Jo (2nd) and Lyn B (3rd). The other GGC members in the table are Seongsin Jin on 11th and Linda Mackin is 14th.

Congrats members and keep it going for the rest of the season.

Quick updates

We apologise to all members that recently received a policy update for their buggy storage noting to place their valuables on shelves. We just realised that only a specific number of bays have dedicated shelves and we are unable to put up additional shelves in the area to accommodate. Therefore, please ignore the statement in the policy in regards to shelves.

We are placing a limit of 4 balls per person in the practice chipping area when there is more than 2 members practicing. This is to ensure safety of others particularly when the chipping is a lofted chip, rather than a bump and run.

Good news! New daily menu will be in place from Friday, 7 July.

Our car park member draw will continue next financial year with upfront paying members will be in the draw for the special car park. We will also continue with 3 x $250 member credit draw either at the AGM or at the Gala Night later this year.

New rain cover for drinks cart

Members are our gems!

A group of members (too many to list here and some didn't want to be known) have come together and put their cash towards providing a new rain cover for our drinks cart.

On behalf of all staff, we thank you generously for this gesture as it will keep them warm and covered from rain during the drinks run.

Congratulations Andy Rigger and Jo Calvo for winning the Ronda Williams Classic on Weds 21 June.

Beautification of our Clubhouse

A note from the general manager....

The theme this year will be to put love back to our clubhouse. Our 19th hole.

It is time that we stand proud of our 19th.

The link below is an article on our website, depicting changes that we have done in recent months and future projects for the beautification of our clubhouse.
