A brief update on the ongoing redevelopment of our club and progress.
The club redevelopment project is moving forward. The overall aim is to enhance our facilities and create a more modern and comprehensive facility for all members to enjoy and also provide a shared community golf practice, golf simulation and social environment for public and guests. The redevelopment project needs a number of steps to see it through to completion: - Resolve historical land tenure with the City of Gosnells (City) and Department of Planning, Lands, Heritage (DPLH). Currently underway.
- Obtain development approval and building licence approvals.
- Undertake Project Funding arrangements with various agencies
- Manage and facilitate the construction, likely in two or three stages to minimise disruption to members use of the club facilities.
In terms of the land tenure issues, we have been actively engaged in negotiations with the relevant authorities and stakeholders including the DPLH and the City. Following a recent meeting at the club with the City Mayor Terresa Lynes - Club President, Shane Thompson, General Manager, Fiza and myself were invited to present the club redevelopment and land use plans to the City Executive and Councillors last Tuesday 20 June at their monthly community forum. We are pleased to inform you it was warmly received and a positive reaction to our plans for the future and to resolve the land use issues. Following this community forum, we are now engaging with the DPLH and the City Planning in resolving the land tenure process. Rob Olde Head of the project development committee Board Member |
