Own a Hole Initiative

The greens committee is continually looking at ways to improve our course to ensure we play on one of the best courses in the Perth metropolitan area.

In July 2015 we introduced the "Own a Hole" concept, and we intend to reintroduce this concept.

It is normal practice that all members are requested to repair their divots, repair a minimum of two pitch marks & rake the bunker.

Owning a Hole is based on the following:

Every playing member will be allocated a hole to maintain each & every time they participate in a round of golf. What we are looking at is that the "Hole you own", you will take extra care of this hole by repairing three of four pitch marks on the green, repairing divots as you walk down the fairway, ensuring the bunker rakes are in the correct position & bunkers raked. Those members allocated a par three to ensure divots on the tee are chopped in. This does not mean you neglect the other 17 holes as you are still expected to repair your divots and pitch marks etc. At the same time, you must maintain your position directly behind the group in front.

Allocation of holes has primarily been based on an alphabetical basis with details as follows:

As you can see some holes have a larger number of members than others, however, there is no simple solution to rectify this anomaly. Due to only 27 members having surnames commencing with I & J, they have been allocated hole number 7 whilst members with the surname commencing with the letter H who have 47 members have been allocated the par 4, 8th. A similar scenario exists with members whose surname commences with the letters U - Z. There are 63 members and they have been allocated two holes 13 & 14 whilst members with the surname commencing with O, P & Q who have 48 members have been allocated hole 15.

This new strategy will commence immediately.

I implore all members to embrace this initiative.

The pace of play. A good pace of play is about keeping up with the group in front of you.

Members are only allowed to practice playing on the course with a maximum of TWO golf balls. Please refrain from hitting more than 2 during your practice/casual play on the course.
