Captain's Update

Firstly, I would like to welcome all our new members to the club, and it is pleasing to see many of you participating in the club competitions on offer.

With competitions in mind, I'd like to thank all the sponsors who generously contributed throughout the year, which not only bolsters our prize pool but also importantly builds a bond within the membership.

Congratulations to the winners across all categories.

As our golfing season ends, I would like to bring the membership up to date from a Match committee perspective.

The current match committee has been in place for 2 years now and as promised when I was asked to fill the role as a casual vacancy 2 years ago, the match committee personnel will be reviewed after 2 years.

All committee members except those with a portfolio i.e. Vice- Captain, Junior Co-ordinator and Women's Co-Ordinator have been asked to step aside and if they so wish, reapply for the position.

To members of the outgoing Match Committee, I'd like to publicly thank them for their time and dedication in what is not an easy task, servicing 900 members playing needs and demands whilst still trying to enjoy their own experience at the club.

If you would like to apply for a position on the Match Committee, please contact me directly

As many of you are aware, this is the time of year for renovations and upgrades to our course. A number of these long-term projects may be inconvenient, but the playing experience on our course will be enhanced. I seek members' patience and please adhere to instructions from the pro shop and course staff on any changes.

Members Guest Procedure Reminder

If you want to invite guests to play with you in a  competition timesheet on Premium Day (Thursday comp, Sat comp and Sunday AM comp), you will need to ask for approval from either Club Captain, GM or Golf Ops Manager prior. We ask that you provide your guests' golflink numbers in the request and only they can book you in the timesheet. Please do not ask the pro shop staff to book them in for you.

You may book your guests directly on casual timesheet days. If you have difficulty with this, please contact the pro shop staff.

ALL MEMBERS GUESTS must register personally in the pro shop prior to playing. They need to be sighted and spoken to by pro shop staff and complete a registration form with their details. Please remember that you are limited to 6 visits for each guest per membership year.

driving range

Range reminder

Two distance markers for 100m and 150m are now visible on the driving range.

Members are reminded not to hit their ball further than 150m.

We are monitoring feedback from neighbouring properties to ensure that no range balls are coming into their property and one of the easiest ways to ensure that is to hit the ball less than 150m.

For now, hybrids and irons are allowed as long as it is less than 150m. Should we continue to receive feedback on stray balls at the end of the range, we will discontinue the use of hybrids.

Regular Reminders - Golf and Course

All off-course boundary shots must be reported to the pro shop/office. A courtesy of an apology to the neighbour (if identified) is appreciated.

The pace of play. A good pace of play is about keeping up with the group in front of you.

All golf carts and buggies must be 5m away from tees and greens, at all times.

Members are only allowed to practice playing on the course with a maximum of TWO golf balls. Please refrain from hitting more than 2 during your practice/casual play on the course.

If you are practising your chips/pitches on our chipping green, it is a maximum of FOUR golf balls when there are other members around on the chipping green.

If you don't know which HOLE YOU OWN as a GGC member - please go to this page.
