Captain Update

Fellow members,

I'd like to start this update by acknowledging outgoing Captain Paul Cooper.

Paul, on behalf of all members - thank you for everything you have done for the club.  Now it's time to put yourself first for a change.

I also appreciate the confidence of Paul and the Board in appointing me for the remainder of Paul's term through to the 2024 AGM.  I have big shoes to follow and there is a lot of work to do, but I am excited for what lays ahead as we keep moving our great club forward.  I also appreciate the support of Vice Captain Grace who has done a great job.  Grace and I have worked closely and we will continue to do so in my new role.

Junior Coordinator

I am pleased to announce that Darren Roberts has agreed to take over as Junior Coordinator.  The Roberts family are hugely invested in the club, both Darren and his wife Camilla are current Junior Committee members and many of you would know their not so little 13-year-old son Connor, one of our junior members.

Over the past year, we have built the Junior Committee and we now have a great group of people developing and providing opportunities to our younger members and they are well placed to continue the work we have been doing.  It will be business as usual for our junior program.

Match Committee

I would like to thank outgoing Match Committee members Lyn Harling, John Cameron, Russell Redpath and Mark Watts (moved to Greens Committee) for their contributions during their time on the committee.

We welcome the following members who have just joined the committee:

  • Johnson Taylor
  • Lyn Bennett
  • Clint Jakovich
  • Clay Godwin

The following members remain on the committee under their existing roles:

  • Vice Captain - Grace Cheetham
  • Women Golf Coordinator - Deb Callcott
  • Golf Operations Manager - Moka Edwards
  • General Manager - Fiza Errington

As the incoming Junior Coordinator, Darren Roberts will now also sit on this committee.

2024 Summer Cup

The next major event on our calendar is the Summer Cup which is being played on 20 and 21 January.  Entries are now open via Mitournament and close 5pm Friday 12 January.  Players can choose their group and starting time for the first day - the draw will be reversed on Sunday.

Dress Standards

Attached to this update is a refreshed Dress Code (PDF) and Poster Guide (PDF) that has been approved by the Board and becomes effective immediately.

The code provides two standards of dress -  one standard when either playing or practising golf and a slightly amended standard when not playing or practising golf.

Just the same as upholding the rules of golf, a good place of play and appropriate course care - members playing in the same group are now required to respectfully assist with compliance for the dress code.

The same dress code will be strictly adhered to for all public and social groups. This will be strictly administered by staff.

Another change in the new year is that all public players are required to book online and with it, the acceptance of the terms and conditions for dress code compliance. The green fee rate from 1 Jan 2024 is $70 for 18 holes and $35 for 9 holes. The members' guest rate has not changed - $50 for 18 holes and $30 for 9 holes.
