The hot topic this week (pun intended) was the heat streak we are going through right now. We caution all members to take extra care when playing golf in the hot weather and to read our extreme weather policy. (PDF).
Generally, extreme weather applies to changes in the afternoon field. A mandatory break of 14 minutes is applied to all groups playing in the afternoon from 38 - 41 degrees. The afternoon competition is cancelled when the forecast reaches 41 degrees. This is to deter/discourage members from playing golf in the afternoon.
We do, however, stop members from playing on the course completely when the forecast reaches 42 degrees and above. This applies at the completion of the morning field.
When it comes to Clubhouse hours, likely reduced hours will apply when the forecast reaches 41 and above.
We don't encourage members to come up for practice during the hot days either.
If the Clubhouse is closed, please note that the disabled toilet near the alfresco area is not locked.
Please take care and please know your limits in the heat.
