Successful weeks of events
We just completed a successful hosting of the 2024 Australian Junior Amateur Championship last week.
Many are to be commended for their work, effort and time in the success of it.
Thank you to all who have put their time and effort together from my team of hard-working staff, our dedicated team of volunteers and our wonderful members who gave up their course for the week.
It is not easy to pull together a major event. I know that a lot of us were exhausted by the end of the week therefore I sincerely thank those that have gone above and beyond to showcase the best of our Club.
This week, we roll into our two major events - the GGC Senior Open and GGC Open. Congratulations to our own club member, Russell Goldsworthy for taking the crown of the Senior Open and good luck to all players competing this weekend at the GGC Open.
We are holding 4 special social events in the upcoming week as well. It is important that members support these events as recent club event cancellations have been due to poor booking numbers and interest. Please support our events.
Special social events (book online and event poster listed below):
Quiz Night (Saturday 27 April)
High Tea (Sunday 28 April)
Mother's Day Brunch (Sunday 12 May)
Casino Night (Sunday 18 May)
Anzac Day 2024
Lest we forget.
We honour those who have served and those who continue to serve in Australia's armed forces. We recognise more than a hundred thousand Australian service men and women who have lost their lives in military operations carried out in our country's name. We honour the values that have been invested in the original Anzacs - loyalty, selflessness, courage - and the ways in which later generations have measured their own achievements against those of the soldiers who fought on Gallipoli.
At the Club, we will be playing the W McGhie Perpetual Trophy, an honour board event. This will be a shotgun start at 1230pm.
A special Anzac ceremony will be held, starting at 1140am near the flag area. Members are encouraged to come earlier to attend the ceremony.
