We had a great turn out for last Friday’s Silver Bronze, with 89 women entering the state ranking 18-hole event. Some great golf was played followed by a delicious lunch for the players during presentations.
In a strong field, 49 participants competed for the Silver Championship (GA Handicap of 19.1 and below). In what was a very tight contest, Royal Perth’s Minke Terblanche came out victorious shooting a 73 (+1), defeating Mount Lawley’s Ruby Cotton on a countback in second and Amanda Gan (Royal Fremantle) in third, who finished with a 75 (+3).
40 Players with a handicap of 19.2 and above competed in the Bronze category playing stableford. For the second year in a row, the Bronze category was won by a Gosnells member as Women’s Golf Coordinator Sandra Alexander took victory. Sandra scored an incredible 45 stableford points, winning by 8 strokes over fellow Gosnells members Bong Oak Lee (37) and Sunny Lee (37).
